Dear altBlackpool readers
You might have noticed over the past few months things have been quiet at altBlackpool and for that we are deeply sorry. As you may know, our team is made up entirely of volunteers who are committed to bringing you the best of arts and culture in Blackpool and across the Fylde Coast.
In the past eight years since we set out on this adventure on 30 July 2012, we’ve published 1,776 articles and galleries on altBlackpool written by 70 volunteer contributors. At times it has been challenging but it has always been fun, and done as a result of our collective passion for our local cultural scene.
As in life, change is constant, and we’re planning a change. In Spring 2020 altBlackpool will be re-launching with a new name, outlook and approach. We're setting out to bring you the number one guide to arts and culture in Blackpool and the Fylde Coast and we’re looking forward to the challenge.
Look out for more varied original writing, including opinion and think-pieces, as well as photo galleries, videos and audio. In time (when we can go out again!), we'll explore more of our amazing local arts venues, not to forget our Fylde Coast culinary treasures.
In the meantime we hope you’ll bear with us while we make these behind the scenes changes and get ready for another eight years of Blackpool arts and culture.
If you want to be part of the team as a writer or photographer you can email us at [email protected], we’d love to hear from you.
